Chapter Two
Buffy woke with a ravenous hunger like nothing she had ever felt before. She had no idea where she was, and no idea where to get food.
/Wait/ she thought. /I don’t need food. /
Her hand came up to touch her face and she whimpered from a sudden pang of hunger.
Angelus burst into the room, with a mug of some liquid. She sniffed…blood. She reached for it before he could even make it over to her and he obliged, chuckling softly.
“How do you feel, sweet?” he asked.
She looked up at him, her eyes glowing gold. “Hungry.”
“Aye, but the sun is almost up.” He said. “Can you make it for now?”
She groaned but nodded. “Why can’t I just have the humans here?”
“Because,” Angelus stripped until he was clad in nothing but his trousers and climbed into bed with her. “There is no guarantee that the drained bodies wouldn’t lead to us. And I want us save. We’ll hunt tomorrow night though.”
She nodded, grudgingly and curled up against him, nuzzling her sire’s neck. “Can I?”
Angelus nodded and felt his mate’s fangs gently poke through his skin and he growled in pleasure, holding onto her tight, his hands at her hips. He soon had to make her stop however and she seemed content to lick his wound closed and lay her head on his chest. He kissed her gently, not expecting her to kiss back, but she did until she grasped her head and moaned.
“What is it little one? What do you see?” Angelus asked. He was worried when she didn’t answer and just kept moaning.
“The moon whispers.” She said. “They say the mean men know. They know Angel!” she screamed and started sobbing into his chest.
He could only hope the watchers didn’t send their special team to annihilate his slayer. “It’s okay little one.” He whispered. “I’ll keep the bad men away.”
She sniffed, “Promise?” he smiled at her and her human face slid back into place for the first time since she woke up. He gently laid her back down and nuzzled her neck, knowing it would soothe her fears.
“Angel, I’m cold.” She told him.
He sighed, “I know. It’s because the only warm thing you’ve been able to drink was that horrible cow’s blood from the inn’s kitchen. We’ll get you someone warm to eat as soon as the sun goes down.” |
